M.y 10yr old Westie bitch has a trapped nerve in her back. My vet has prescribed anti inflamitory drugs but these have not worked. She is dragging her hind legs and her tail is limp. At time she has no control over b;adder or bowls. She had puppies and then spayed 5yrs ago

Hi cosford,
How long is it since your Westie was at the Vet?
If it has been a few days, I would certainly take her back and get the Vet to have another look at her.
Poor wee soul!
I also have a Westie. Love her to bits.
Please keep us updated on her.
Hope she is okay! xx
Hi there, i once had a small dog who suddenly started to cry out in pain, didnt have control of her bladder, i took her to the vet who said it sounds like she had a trapped nerve, my vet gave her a dose of steroids, which did the trick, mind you ever so often she use to drag her back legs but not very often, its worth asking the vet to see what they think, hope things work out.
This may sound stupid, but mcTimoney chiropractic actually was developed for treating animals (horses). You could try asking them if they can help this kind of problem
Got to agree with Ann - find a chiropractor. Did wonders for my dog. Best wishes.
