Windows vista - I am an administrator yet it will not allow me to install or uninstall anything! Does anyone know what is wrong and how I can change this? It keeps saying "the system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation" Or "you do not have sufficient access to install/uninstall...please contact your system administrator" This is extremely irritating and has me literally pulling hairs out. It was working fine only a couple of days ago! Any help would be greatly and deeply appreciated and lots of good karma would come your way!

However much of a pain it is I'd advise agains disabling it though - try
right click on setup.exe (or whatever it's called)
select "run as administrator"
and you should be swinging
the run as admin is generally the way round most problems
UAC is there for a reason ... and some of the newer installers actually expect it ... and won't run correctly without it being enabled.
