had halloween party for my little ones and lots of there friends then took them all trick n treating....... why doesn't anybody bother with it anymore? to see there little faces when nobody bothers to answer the door is so annoying and waste of time! i got into the fun of it, got dressed up as a witch, although some would say i am one anyway! that was a joke legend lol ....... Anyway when i was back in scotland for halloween, most people got into the spirit of things.... and they say the scottish are tight!! shame really....

Scotland isn't losing its tradition in my estate, we were over-run with little witches, skeletons and ghouls. I was out with my two for a while and my husband did the door answering. We had at least 80 kids and all obliged with a joke, a poem or a song. We even had one guy do some break dancing and another who did a walking handstand. There was no bother whatsoever and a good time had by all. Quite a lot of houses were all decorated and some even had the kids in for apple dooking and eating donuts from a wire.
A lot of kids come over from the rougher part of the area, but they were all good mannered and well behaved.
I think that the tradition of guising in Scotland is a bit different from the imported trick or treating.
