Scotland isn't losing its tradition in my estate, we were over-run with little witches, skeletons and ghouls. I was out with my two for a while and my husband did the door answering. We had at least 80 kids and all obliged with a joke, a poem or a song. We even had one guy do some break dancing and another who did a walking handstand. There was no bother whatsoever and a good time had by all. Quite a lot of houses were all decorated and some even had the kids in for apple dooking and eating donuts from a wire.
A lot of kids come over from the rougher part of the area, but they were all good mannered and well behaved.
I think that the tradition of guising in Scotland is a bit different from the imported trick or treating.
