I have had a stove put in a fire place.
The back wall of which faces into kitchen.
I had the wall skimmed to finish it .
The problem is I believe the heat is making the plaster crack around the original hole.
Can heat do this ?

if it's not insulated, yes. Did you take any steps to prevent heat damage to the wall?
