One of our two new kittens has started doing this to my GF, she pushes her away but she just comes back and tries to do it again. Also she cries quite a bit, even when she is just sat on our laps or the floor, unlike her sister who is good as gold.

Don't know if this has any relevance but the naughty kitten is a lot smaller than her sister, but just as tough lol

Thanks Shiznit

Lend her your eyeball to play with, not literally ofcourse, a fake one from the store... she may be playful and the new toy will help keep her happy for hours.
As for your gf, is she ugly? cats/kittens have this habit of trying to scratch out eyes of ugly ppl, its a known fact, and unfortunately the cats have not grown out of this disrespectful habit ..... dont need to tell your gf this , but the toy should help you both out. good luck

Errr, what a strange reply!

My GF is very beautiful so I don't think that your theory there is very relevant.

Thanks for the answer though, I think?
I suppose beauty depends on who's looking.... so I'm sure she's very um beautiful ... to you.

But this theory of cats/cute kittens clawing out eyes of ugly people is a genetic trait among cats and actually goes back to the middle ages, when cats were carried about on cushins and used to sniff out witches, by stretching a paw out to smack an ugly witch on the head/near the eye area.

But thats not to say your gf is a witch , or anything else. I'm sure she's a nice person, so just give your cat an ugly doll or an eyeball to play with, and she will be fine. all the best
Ignore him shiznit.

No answer for you - cats do weird things. My cat used to lick my eyeball to wake me up when he was bored.

My boy cat, Frankie, is very vocal and out going. His sister, Merlin, is quite quiet and timid.

It may be that the little one was the runt of the litter - or maybe has a different father.

As long as they are happy, eating, drinking, pooing, weeing and bossing you around they will be fine.

Thanks wolf63, yeah they are doing all the normal things and seemed to have settled in really well.

We were just amused by the eye thing, our dog sleeps on his back with all his legs sprawled out so it must just be the kittens "thing" lol

Cheers for the reply
well the ugly thing gave me a laugh anyway!

our old next door neighbours cat used to lick ears, for hours and hours, it was funny and cute for 5 minutes, but he was absolutely obsessed and would not get off your shoulder even if you walked around, you hair would be soaked. yuk
