I have seen it a number of times and on each occasion I have seen a few men with tears in their eyes when the lights go up at the end of the performance!

DEfinately QUEEN the MUsical... we have been afew times. IT is fab. My husband (who by his own admission is a bit of a neanderthol when it comes o theatre) was dragged along kicking and screaming...but LOVED it. We also decided at a later date to take his son (16 year old and "2 cool" to see a musical... guess waht he LOVED it too and we are all going back again to see it in December.
Depends what kind of thing he likes, i'd say Grease-everyone loves that! The Rocky Horror Show, the lion king, mary poppins there is so many....

For a bit of a giggle, why not try Avenue Q ?
If your b/f isnt into musicals I am not sure he would like Les Mis/Phantom etc. Might be a bit too soppy for him although I have enjoyed them a few times. We Will Rock You is good if you like Queen. But I dont think a bloke would really go for Grease/Footloose or Dirty Dancing types. More likely Lord of the Rings. But have a look at Avenue Q it might appeal. I loved Spamalot!

I would say either We Will Rock You, or Blood Brothers.
Ive seen them both more than once and they are fantastic, and would appeal to most people. Mr Flo was very anti theatre and musicals until he was pressganged into seeing WWRY and he loved it, and has said now he'll go again.
I think Les Mis would be a bit too much if he's not really keen on musicals.
Hope you enjoy what ever you decide to see.

What about (if it's still running) The Blues Brothers. The show isn't the story, but a performance of all the songs featured in the film, by the characters who performed them (not the same actors, though, obviously). It's funny, and there's some good music too.
Rocky Horror Show is another good one, although your bf should be prepared for the fact that a lot people go to that show in 'funny' costumes - you'll be surrounded by corset-wearing, would be transvestites, but they're all quite harmless, I assure you.
And I know it sounds cheesy, but what about Joseph? Many, many people have been introduced to musicals via that show and I defy anyone not to enjoy it.
