I am 20 years old and me and my girlfriend have been together for nearly a year. The relationship has been fantastic and i found myself every day counting my lucky stars i found her. Recently she moved to university about 2 months ago, this has obivously been incredibly hard for the both of us. But i just want to show her how much i still love her and how much she means to me, i know its only been a year so im not sure what would be perfect to show her how much she means. I thought jewellery but then what kind of jewellery?!? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thankyou

Hi Bids...

Someone i had been seeing for a few months sent me a teddy bear holding a heart by special delivery post. It was out of the blue and one of the best presents i've ever had.

Better than chocs or flowers. If you really wanna push the boat out, buy a piece of jewellery (prob earrrings not too committal or anything) and put it in the teds hands or something. I'd love that and bet she would too.
sorry but I;d say teddy bears are a no no for me. Maybe when I was a teenager but as you get older whats the point, they just sit there. A Charm bracelet is always nice and then it gives you ideas for other presents i.e a charm for it xx
A sloppy fridge magnet 99p

I made a wish and you came true...

and a picture of a rose

Works every time lol
A fridge magnet!!! come on. I know it's the thought and all that but hey

Whatever you do Bids, seriously do not take reverandfunk's advise! Although i've read a few of your answers before rever and you do make me laugh!
Sorry meant advice! (perhaps someone should by me a dictionary!)

You could frame a picture of the 2 of you together - that way she'll know you gave it a bit of thought and she'll have a reminder of you at uni.
Trust me as a stocking filler that fridge magnet takes some beating. Just say everytime you open the fridge first thing in the morning you'll think of me...

Plus to go with it do a cd of songs that are special to you and write on the cd itself play it with the lights low candle on etc etc mushy stuff.

Ive done it loads of times and it's a banker!!!!

Just go n see her n tell her how much you love her!

My bf is never romantic n id love him to do summit like dat to me!

book at table at a nice reastraunt and take her there after suprisin u

xxxxxx
I know it's for a guy, but maybe you could find something similar, but for my partners last birthday I brought a pair of dog tags which I had inscribed. One with our intials and 'together forever' on the other. It cost me about 70, but you could probably buy a cheaper bracelet if you're looking for something cheaper. But everytime she looks at her wrist or takes it off, she'll think of you. Cute right?
Bids: It doesnt have to be the gift itself. The sentiment behind it can be more powerful and valuable than anything you could ever buy.

Yes, jewellery is always nice. But (and I hope I dont get shot down here), quality handbags are appreciated as well. But Im talking about Mulberry, Dooney & Burke, Burberry, Coach, etc. But they can be quite pricey. So can beautiful Autumn scarves Herms, Burberry, Dunhill, etc. And of course, nice engraved jewellerybut do try to steer clear of the old Ratners kind of stuff. Interestingly, you can buy very nice silver gifts from places such as Tiffanys and Cartier for under 50. And the message that youre valued can go far.

But as I say, the sentiment, in my very humble impression can be much more powerful. Send her a dozen long-stems with a card that reads: I dreamt of you last night. And in my dreams, I kissed your lips for long seconds. Or something along those lines.

But then, I may not be the person to askIm just a hopeless romantic!

Best of luck!

Fr Bill
I like the fridge magnet idea....but that's probably cause i end up with cheapskates who will only spend about 99p on my present :P
