It's a Leap Pad, I think it's a book type effort that can read specific words when pressed to help children learn.

You buy the book base- type thing, about thirty quid. Battery-job. Then you add to it with the book 'inners' eg scooby doo, disney, etc. These have pages which, when turned can be 'read' with an attatched pen-type thingy. Good for learning to read; beware of US accents though.
My husband does audio editing for Leap Frog and is currently working on a project made to market in the UK... with British accents :-)  I'll have to tell him about your warning though sunflower.
Are they making regional accents? I'd buy one if it spoke roight.
I just asked my husband about the regional accents - they don't make specific products for different UK regions, but they do include characters with varied accents.  My husband particularly likes the Welsh ones that he's working with now.
