My PC Game Won't Work

I just bought roller coaster ****** 2, installed it fine. BUT when I opened the game it loaded up to the main page (where u select new game/load game etc) but then it just exits. A couple of times it has let me start a new game but then it just exits again. I've ended processes from the task manager options but nothing chanegd. Is there anything else I can do? I would appreciate it a lot if it was simply said too :)

If you have xp you could try right clicking on the shortcut for the game and click on properties. Then click on compatibility and tick the run this in compatibility mode for ...and choose windows 98.
If not try downloading this patch for it.

Find where the saves are located on your hard drive. Double click on the one you want to load. Windows will ask you to identify what program to use and you can select RCT2.exe. It will then load up.

ohhhhhhh i think i got excited too soon. it worked for about 5 minutes then did the whole exiting thing again :(
anymore suggestions?
