I find the best concealer for under eye dark circles is YSL Touche Eclat. If that is too expensive shop around for one with light reflecting properties. I am 39 and have had to hide my dark circles for a few years now, unfortunately I inherited them from my mum so getting more sleep is a waste of time.lol. I have no idea about the creams though as I consider them a waste of money after trying many and none of them working.:-(
tea bags
Hi
I use dior skinflash, it is similar to touche eclat but thicker so you use less. I took a really bad allergic reaction to touche eclat and having spoken to a couple of beauticians, apparently this is very common if you have sensitive skin! So try and test it out before you buy if you have sensitive skin!
Beautycounterdirect.co.uk sell touche eclat much cheaper than the shops
Clarins have a copy Touche Eclat out at the minute. It contains the same light reflecting properties as Touche Eclat, but is much more water based and a lot less thick cream like that of Touche Eclat. I really wanted the same thing, so I just went into a department store, asked them for what I wanted, and put severeal on the back of my hand to compare, and then put the final two I liked on each eye to compare. I still ended up buying Touche Eclat though !
Tea bags do not decrease dark circles. If you have puffy eyes then cold teabags will reduce the puffiness but will have no effect whatsoever on dark circles
I have tried YSL touche eclat but do not find it that great if I am honest. I mostly use a rimmel concealer which is a tenth of the price and as it is thicker it gives much better coverage.
This is my photographer side writing you today. The challenge with many of the low to mid-price concealers is that they tend to be too heavy, resulting in a defined point where the concealer show up once the base sets.

I agree with Daffy regarding YSL Touche Eclat. Its an excellent product. However, based on your age group, you may wish to consider one of the Guerlain products, particularly the 'Touche de Teint.' It tends to blend more naturally.

In addition to dark circles, if youre encountering any puffiness, in France we would typically use chilled serving spoons and rub the base gently around the base of the eye and above the cheek bone. Its even more appropriate during the seasonal changes when you tend to put on make-up in a warm home, then step outside into the cold. This can directly affect the natural earthen elements of many cosmetics, giving your face a definitive made-up look, rather than a natural look.

And one last consideration. As down-market as it may sound, some of the Boots Number 7 products are proving to be comparable if not superior to some of the most pricy (and gimmicky) products on the market.

If youd like expert advice, rather than from a beautifully made up young lady who has attended only one or two courses on how to apply make-up and sell it at the same time, try contacting the Guerlain counter at Harrods and ask if you can book a session with one of their cosmetic consultants. They are typically in the stores 4-6 times a year.

If this is out of your area, Id suggest trying one of the Elizabeth Arden Red Door locations, where you can obtain the same advice and equally good products. However, for concealers, I still endorse Guerlain above all.

I wish you well

I'm 20 and I have dark circles too, is there away to get rid of them instead of trying to hide them?
Wow Village Vicar I'm impressed is there no end to your talents!!

Dark circles are a build up of toxins so drinking lots of water can help.

I personally find Liz Earles Eyebright tonic is fantastic as are her other products http://www.lizearle.com/products.php?range=2&m nuid=1&S=ea0d9cf471dea1f9a581

Good Luck
SKA: Hellion is correct regarding fluids in helping to possibly reduce the dark circles. Additionally, smoke can also contribute directly to the pigment diffusement beneath your eyes. Light therapy can sometimes be beneficial, as can diet.

Be well

Fr Bill
thanks, I've started drinking loads of water at work so hopefully that'll help!!
I think the best concealers are rimmel "hide the blemish", but works on dark circles and No.7, cant remember what its called it comes in a thin silver tube and works really well, its definately the best, just slightly more expensive than the other one !
