6yr old visions

My 6 yr old son has for 2 years now had difficulty sleeping in his bedroom alone and inevitablly ends up in our bed. He has at times become very distressed and anxious saying he sees people in his room and they talk to him??? He also wakes up in sweats and seems to fix his stare on something or someone that cant be seen.
We have reassurred him and attempted to reassert the fact that we are just down the corridor.

We have 2 other children who have no such problem and he generally is a level headed well behaved and inquisitive young boy.
My wife sister recently went to a clairvoyant and asked her about him and was told that he was psychic.. to listen to his disclosures and continue to reassure him, I am slightly dubious of this but remain concerned that he seems very distressed over these episodes. Has anyone encountered similar and any advice.

Hi Hedge. My daughter is 9, and has been having the same issue since she was 4. In our last house, we never felt happy, and she regularly said she saw two men, who didn't want us there. From her description, we think they were dressed in victorian clothes. When we moved to our current house, she told us, they hadn't come with us, as they were stuck in our old house. In this house, she has told us, there is a little girl, but she is happy for us to be here, and just wants to play. Our son, is only 8months old, but sometimes appears to smile at something we can't see. We remain open minded, and alway accept what our daughter tells us....after all, just because we can't see something, it doesn't mean it isn't there. The only thing I can suggest other than what you have already been told, is going to sound a little silly.....but next time your son sees someone, ask them together to leave your son alone, explain that he is scared and would like to be left alone. It does feel silly, but it may help. Don't ever tell your son there is nothing there, as it will just confuse him.
Stay open yourself, you never know! Hope I've made sense, feel free to ask anything as it can help to know there are other people experiencing the same thing.

Your son is having night terrors,this is a recognised sleep disorder and requires some input from your GP.

Bless him! I know a lot of people don't believe in this sort of thing, but I used to see people when I was a child myself. Our house has several "visitors", which we're all quite used to, but it can be very frightening for a small child. Don't dismiss these sightings as a figment of your child's imagination. It may be, it may not - but you could try doing as Smudge suggests.

NOT to dismiss the clairvoyant aspect but.... I am with daffy654...sound like night terrors to me. arecognised (and VERY realistic to the dreamerr - even once they wake up) syndrome!

I think we have had this discussion before but children are suseptible to seeing things, not all but some and I think it is silly to diss it. It wouldn't hurt to take Smudges advice because I think she is right. If you tell him he is making it up, it will be even worse. My frineds little boy regularly saw his great grandfather who chatted with him on a regular basis.

Thanks for your comments, they are appreciated. I will follow smudges advice, for 2 reasons, 1 as their could be something in it and 2 it will reassure him his dad believes what he says.
His episodes do sound very similar to the link you posted daffy so thank you. That appeals to my logical side. particularly reassures me that they can be a persistent occurrence for some time.
I do recall having specific unexplained occurrences when I was a child, but never over this length of time.!
