Your local liberary will have the best books on this that you can sit an read through and choose the best for you to take away, i would also concider getting an audio cd by tony robbins who covers all areas of life.

why dont you contact your local hospital, they'll have booklets etc
I'm sorry for your loss. Could you kindly tell me the age group this book is for please? I published an article several years ago in the states regarding children and grieving. I recomended two books, which you may find helpful in explaining death to your child.

Waterbugs and Dragonflies
By: Doris Stickney

For age group 4-6

This is a childs book that explains the Christian belief of life after death through a story about the lifecycle of waterbugs and dragonflies. Children enjoy the story, and at the same time can relate it to their experience of death. It will be helpful for them both if they have immediate experience of death. This book is written simply and is excellent for reading to children.

The Day Great-grandma Moved House: A Story Explaining Death and Bereavement to Young Children
By: Joy Smith

For age group 4-teen

This book provides simple philosophies in presenting the news of a death and provides the adult with help in answering the difficult questions of what death means and what is beyond.

I pray this information will help you during these difficult times. If this is outside the age group you're looking for, please let me know and I would be pleased to share others.

The Five People You Meet in Heaven ()
by Mitch Albom (Author)

Visit Kate Boydell's Merry Widow site.

It was originally intended to help young widows but has expanded to become a useful resource for anyone who needs help, or wants to help, after a death.

Whatever the age and circumstances, you'll find help and support in the Guide and the Discussion Board.
A Grief Observed by C.S.Lewis (the Oxford Don who was the subject of the play & film Shadowland). It is his reflections on the death of his wife.

Someone bought this for me when my father died. It has been reprinted many, many times since it was first published in 1961. It is only a slim volume.
