Still Pregnant!!!!
14 Answers
Still pregnant and getting more irritable by the day! I am now a week overdue, can't sleep, can't stop scratching! My tummy looks like the Goodyear blimp that someone has drawn a map of the Underground on in red felt pen! I've got a rash on my tummy from scratching so much and I am so hot I actually keep my other half warm with no covers on the bed! I have tried every single way of bringing him on recommended by everyone, even redcrx's weird nipple tweeking thing, all to no avail! HELP!

You do have to do it for hours and hours though :(
Have you tried getting on all fours when you get the false starts? It may be the baby isnt quite hitting the right spot and putting the needed pressure of cervix.
Has your midwife offered a sweep?

I have to do it for hours?????? That's even weirder! The other half walked into the bedroom to see me sat on the bed doing it, took one look at me and walked out again! :-)
Tried the curries, tried sex, tried jumping up and down on the spot, ate a whole fresh pineapple, long walks, hot baths, nothing! So depressed!
I think you're right about baby not hitting the spot, when I'm sat up the pains are unbelievable, we ended up at the hospital the other morning as I was crying the pain was that bad, but as soon as I lay down the pain stopped! The monitor showed I was having contractions, but they're not strong enough for me to feel when I'm lying down. I've got an appointment to be induced on Monday which I don't want as I think they'll try and force me to have another section which I don't want. Feel really tearful and very guilty at the moment. I mean, tey're are women out there that can't even get pregnant and here's me moaning about being overdue! I just can't help it!

awww i really feel for you hun. I was painlessly contracting for weeks because baby wasnt on right spot. That was bad enough, but i wouldnt cope in pain.
The nipple thing does take hours but Ive known those who its worked for.
Also try:
A birthing ball (or gym ball as they are same but cheaper). Sit on it a rotate your hips in a big circle slowly. or move forwards and backwards on it.
when sitting down use a dining chair and face the back. that tilts pelvis so baby may get to right spot and make the pains more productive.

I like the idea of the birthing ball because when I sit down the most comfortable position I can get in is either perched right on the edge of the couch with my legs wide open so my bump isn't resting on my legs, or sat back with my back arched. I think I'll give that a try. Having pains now actually and I've been lying down for a few hours! They're coming more and more regular which means I spend a lot of time lying down at the moment! I hope he gets moving today! My daughter's bored out of her mind because we can't go anywhere that involves me walking very far, bless her!

well when I wrote my last reply it turns out I was actually in labour! Robert was born at 8.31am the next day. It was extremely traumatic and i have been very ill, I only got out of hospital today. He was 8lbs 8ozs and has a little mop of red hair. He's so lovely and definately worth the 20 hour labour, suction cap, forceps and episiotomy I ended up with! Has put me off having more kids though, but I might chnage my mind!
