Wiring Fluorescent Light

I thought changing an ordinary pendant for a fluorescent in our garage was a simple operation. I find though that it isn't simply a matter of the usual three-wire set-up - there are two 'live' brown wires. Anyone any ideas ?

I've now sorted this - there were some stange wires which gave a false impression !
