Why did Mel C get the sack from her record label? Did she retire or did everybody suddenly realise she was ******* crap?

In common with the increasingly competative world of record sales, her company decided she was not selling sufficient qualtities, and terminated her contract. This is no uncommon, and can occasionally backfire -as happened with Everything By The Girl who enjoyed massive chart success with 'Missing', their final single for their label at the time. More often than not, another label will pick up the option on an artist, although in Mel C's case, she may have elected to retire - she obviously doesn't need the money,

she did one excellent album and the next was rubbish !

the media will make her out to be a failure but when youre worth double-figure millions would you care ?!

This happens with all new artists.  They are used to make a quick buck for the record companies and managers.  Then they are sacked and replaced by some  other mug.

Personally I think Mel C and all the other Spice Girls were lucky to get as far as they did.
