I watched it.I thought it was excellent.All the cast were superb.Kim Cattrell 's performance was a real eye-opener.I've only seen her in 'Sex & the City' before.

I didn't see the programme, Pickle, but the impression I've had from reading Kipling's story is of a father who wants his son to do the things he never managed to achieve in his own life, and more or less drives him into the army. He paid a high price - though not as high as the son did. Fathers should perhaps be prepared to die for their children; not the other way round. A sad tale.

Wonderfully played by all concerned. The TV guide said that he died 16 days after his birthday whereas the film implied he died one day his birthday. Can you imagine 18yr olds these day going to fight and die for their country.....I think not.
