..in love with someone they'd never even met? My friend had a penfriend for 15 years, and when he got married, she was devastated - insisting that she'd never get over it, and that he was the "love of her life".

Tch! I can't be bothered with anyone who keeps using different ali@rses - and I haven't been banished - yet. If it DOES happen again though, for no reason, there'll be quite a few who go with me.

And peppy - from a Derbyshire-Cheshire-not saying exactly person - that's not answering the question.
You're right IM, but I was just trying to say that even when we've not only met the person but married them aswell, we can never be sure that we really loved them if a subsequent relationship gives you a totally different feeling, which we then 'recognise' as the real thing.

Take ya point but why am I a not -saying - exactly person ?
If I offended you with the Derbyshire thing, it wasn't intentional and I apologise.

Lol - you didn't offend me at all peps - it was just with the way you said you didn't wish to be pedantic - but !
To further your reply - no one ever knows if they've made the right choice do they? If someone's happy as they are, and never experiences new feelings with anyone else, then they can't compare. I think most relationships can get into a rut if you're not careful, and so if you meet someone else who seems the opposite of how your partner''s being, it can sometimes feel as though - yes - THIS is what it's all about.
Very wise words I.M, and you have inadvertantly opened my eyes to something I should have seen for myself.
Your last 5 lines have quite possibly stopped me from making a huge mistake.

Thankyou x x : - )

Just an observation peppy. It's all too easy to think that someone else is exciting, more interesting, more whatever than your partner - but further down the line, you might be thinking the very same about THEM.
exactly ice maiden.
