No address bar etc.please help...

A friend of mine has a laptop witht the homepage set to Yahoo but the address bar & section below with 'file, edit, view', etc has disappeared. It was there two weeks ago when I last saw her but yesterday I tried try to workout what has happened drew a blank. anyone got any ideas? maybe system restore might help, never thought of that yesterday!!

I did do this when I was with her but nothing happened. I knew that by pressing F11 as I have used this before on my computer but for some reason nothing happened. Think I will get her to try system restore to see if that works. thanks for taking the time to reply
F11 should work as it sounds like you're viewing the page in fullscreen mode. Have you tried clicking the restore icon (the one that looks like two boxes)? It should be displayed to the right of the X in the top right corner.
Try hovering the cursor at the top of the screen - if it changes you may be able to drag the missing bits down if they have 'disappeared' off the top.

View - Toolbars - check Address Bar

System Restore shouldn't be necessary

thank you for all your replies which I will relay to my friend & hopefully it will be sorted. never come across this personally so really don't know what she could have done to make it all disappear but she is very new to computers & fears making mistakes which she has obviously done somewhere along the line. cheers!
