Although all relationships can work I suppose, it must be said that some cultural differences can stop a relationship forming. For example very few Jews end up with muslims, Caste systems in India, Catholics and Protestants in NI etc

My question however, is can a successful relationship be formed not on class difference, but on completely different political view points.

Can a neo-right Conservative, laissez-faire, free thinking individualist ever really get on with a looney leftie, if both parties are fairly outspoken?

There's no such thing as cultural differences only bigotry. Whatever the foundation of that bigotry is, is only incidental. We are all people in our own right and should be treated as such.
As for all the political mumbo jumbo, who cares? If you're good to and for one another then you'll be fine.
Personally I'd find both sides of that spectrum tiresome.
No-one holds a monopoly on rightness.
Mr Sense is right wing and I am from a long line of socialists, depends if you have to argue to death for the sake of it!!! We usually agree to differ on the fundamentals. If he is in a fight to the death mood I just don't bite. We have been together for twenty odd years, so yes imho.
I'm quite liking though the way you describe yourself there wardy "neo-right Conservative, laissez-faire, free thinking individualist"... though I'm not quite sure how your prospective intended(?) would feel at being called a "looney leftie"......

.... saying that ying and yang , two sides of the same coin, etc.... nothing ventured nothing gained

sorry no more clich
I haven't encountered this in romantic relationships, but my father is a Socialist..and we have some wicked arguments, which I always win because he is a numpty.
One of my best mates I'm convinced bases his entire personality on Harry Enfields 'Tory Boy' and we still get on very well. It often turns in to captialist v the socialist but neither of us can ever win. Funny thing is we're actually quite similar and usually arrive at the same point having just got there in a different way.

Not been out with anyone who's that politically different from me I don't think.... well unless you count my ex from a couple of years a go who was a labour supporter whereas I'm lib dem at the moment.
Oh Pippa take me to tha labour party conference...
My ex was into fishing, ferreting, shooting etc. Never could see the point as I'm a veggie anti-blood sports type. Put up with him for 26 years though although we disagreed about just about everything. It was only when we stopped arguing that i knew we were finished. So sometimes extreme differences give a wee spark.
