Well, one has sexual and romantic thoughts about children and the other is an irrational dislike of people based on their race.

I am being serious & the reason why I ask this is because I really want to know what peoples views are & what you they think..........
I have known some people for years thinking that they were my friends, but unfortunately I have recently discovered that they have been communicating with a well known racist whom I've had so much grief from and yet my friend knows this! But yet if my friend knew I had even acknowledged a paedophile that would be a whole different story!

In my opinion there is no difference between a paedophile or a racist as they are both evil and can take away your dignity..................

I guess that it is all about degrees - If a person was racist in that he didn't like Gypsies, then most people would agree them. If a person when 16 had sex with a 15 year old, then although technically a paedophile, most people would not have an issue with them.

If on the other hand, the racist went out on a Saturday night looking for black people to beat up and the paedophile had sex with a 3 year old, you are talking about the opposite extremes.

Paedophilia and racism are two separate things, Sonak, although I understand you mean they are equally abhorrent.
But the real issue here is yer mates palling up with a racist.

You have to talk to your friends about their association with the racist. I mean you really must ask them over, sit them down, give them a drink and tell them you want to talk frankly about a serious matter.
Meanwhile, try and calm down a wee bit.

Now, if your friends' association with this racist is seriously affecting your life, you really have to discuss this with your friends, tell them how you feel and why.

A paedophile is a dangerous very mentally unstable person who thinks the rest of the world is out of step and cant understand why anyone wouldnt want to abuse children- and therefore cant be reasoned with.

I would like to add that I find it extraordinary (even for AB) that anyone could even deem Racists and Paodophiles being like for like.
