I have some chicken legs that we didn't get round to cooking at a bbq in June. We froze them right away...do you think they'd be ok to defrost and cook now? I know you're not meant to keep things frozen for longer than a couple of months?

Cider - I would eat them if they have been well wrapped and frozen solid for that length of time. It wouldn't bother me at all.

There really is no limit to how long food will last in the freezer if well wrapped so it does not suffer from freezer burn. I have seen us eat meat that has been frozen for a couple of years and there is nothing wrong with it. Definitly will not do you any harm, so enjoy!
Its not that it would make you ill, it may jsut be the quality has deteoriated a bit. Thats providing they were ok when they went into the freezer - I'd use them
it depends on the quality of your freezer, it should tell you inside the door or on the drawers how long each type of food should be kept in the freezer for. Mine says that chcken is okay for a year. it shows a picture of a chicken and says 12 months under it.
