Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

27ac What a row it makes in London and anywhere (9) - - o - l - - - - (not certain about the l )
28ac What the potter did for haute couture? (7,5) - e - - - n /p - - - - (again not sure about p which comes from the same word as the other two above)

I'm pretty sure that 28 is fashion plate which negates letter E . What is clue for doubtful down word and what have you put ?

Thanks Swannbaker. I am sure you are right with fashion plate. The 'e' came from 22d - Go out in front of the gunners, not I, that would be more than one bargained for (5) I had put 'outre' but I think that must be wrong. My other word fits with avatar and with plate so that is almost certainly right, some you win , some you lose!

24d The painter from the Cyclades (5) t - - - a

25 . No clue given , but 17 and 24 may assist with 27 ac .

Thank you again Swannbaker. The clue to 27 ac is above but I have solved it now .The answer is Artillery. I did not know that quotation but I have found it now. T his was a very interesting crossword as it was published a few days before George Blake escaped from Wormwood Scrubs and the compiler was accused of having put hidden messages in the clues to assist in this. However his name was cleared.
