hi,
trying to find out the name and singer (female ) of a song from the sixties, the words go something like this:

come away from the window, come and close the door, there were lots of belinda girls before they had the war.
then a childs voice would sing:
mummy mummy come and look, see what I have found...............................
obviously a protest song, about a nuclear war, was in the charts as it was played a lot.
thanks,
alf.

It's called 'Come Away Melinda' with lyrics by Uriah Heap & was recorded by Harry Belafonte.
Originally recorded by Harry Belafonte, written by Fred Hellerman/Grald Minkoff.
^^^^^
That should be Fran Minkoff (composer) rather than Grald Minkoff (artist)
