My step daughter is currently living with her mum but is very unhappy, she is getting bullied at school and is very thin (she is only 7). Her Mum will use every exuse not to have her but uses her to get the things she wants. What are our chances of having full custody? She stays with us ervery other weekend and loves spending time with her brother here.

Strong , if you can prove to the High Court - Family Division that the mum is liable of these claims.

However the child may be required to give evidence in court or a video taped interview (but don't quote me on this, it was 4 years ago when i studied family courts, and this may have changed.)

Research the Children Act 1989, read all you can and pay particular attention to sections 1 - 7 and 10.

Also research the Child Abduction and Custody Act 1985.

Consult a family specialized solicitor to get an in depth look at this matter.

Thank you, we need to get this sorted, I will do the research and get in touch with a family solicitor. I will keep you informed and I have also been advised to take her to the Doctors and get her checked out.
