Epilepsy in dogs

My dog (Jack Ruusell) has epilepsy and is on medication from the vets of epilease and also epihen (not sure of the spelling!) and I was wondering if either of these medications could cause him to put on weight?

Not sure if those were the meds our golden retriever took as it was a good few years ago (1 was round & white, the other a white & orange capsule), but our dog did not put any excessive weight on and lived to the grand old age of 16.
