pauln90 MAY be right but did u check what ram it had before in "my computer" as u have just done--if so what did it say?--some motherboards hive off ram for the graphics display and is usually in multiples of 64--so 64, 128, 256 etc--1gb is 1024 mb so hiving 256 from that for graphics would leave 768mb--this doesn't square with what u are getting when u check--although it is close enuf--to check for sure go to start/all programs/accessories/system tools/system information then choose system summary--scroll down til u find "total physical memory"--if it says 1024mb then it means 256mb or thereabouts is being used for graphics--anything else it says will let u know if u have 1gb of ram or not
