Our washer has stopped working. It starts to fill with water as normal, buzzes a bit then empties the water out and stops with the red power light flickering. Any ideas what's wrong?

Make sure the filter is clear and the pump is not blocked. It maybe advisable to do this outside as there will be water in the system. lay the machine carefuly on its side to gain access to the pump but make sure that the timer is protected. it is a bit fiddly to refit the pump but take your time and then fill from a hose to ensure it is working before moving it back inside that way any leaks will not flood the kitchen. hope this helps

Thanks for the advice but it turns out the control board is knackered. 150+labour to get it fixed and only a registered engineer can configure a new board. What a con, like they say "buy cheap, buy often". I'll give Indesit a wide berth in future
Not had a problem with my indesit washer in the 5 years i have had it or the one before only got rid off that one because the missus said it didnt match the new kitchen, always the same. Use to swear by Beko until the dishwasher went wrong after 13 months just out of warranty got a new one (indesit )cheap off comet auction site for less than half price as it had a small dent on the front face. I would check out the auction site and see if you can pick up a new one as it would probably be cheaper than getting it fixed. Hope you get it sorted.
