2 days to go
52 Answers
I have 2 days to go until I am due. No signs at all that it will be here before flippin Christmas. Not even dropped yet. Tried the curry and other stuff but nothing working I am in agony and all I can do is sit here all day watching rubbish day time telly. Any ideas. Don't mention S*x as I have SPD and can just about lift my legs on to the bed without feeling like i'm going to split in half. :(

She did a sweep yesterday and had good contractions from 3am this morning until 7 then stopped again. Have had no sleep in 2 days so really fed up.
Also I don't know what sex the baby is but she did a scan to make sure it was head down (it was) and in my notes it has the symbol for a girl (circle with a cross) should she have done that. I'm a bit miffed as I was 99% sure it was a boy, not that I am bothered what it is but I have made it this far without knowing the sex of it, or could it mean something completely different. As for names Evie for a girl and Lucas for a boy

awww I was hoping thatd be a birth announcement! sorry that things still havnt moved although contractions this morning may well mean something! I didnt even get a twinge when i had a sweep at 40+10. I wasnt admitted to hospital for induction until 14 days over so i know how frustrating it all is.
I doubt very very much that the midwife has given away the sex of baby, although if it turns out its a girl youll always wonder wont you. It is more than likely a position marker or something as theyd have no need to keep a note of baby's sex until after the birth would they?
try and keep as active as you possibly can with the SPD and sleep whenever you get the chance! even if its at lunchtimes lol, just concentrate on you and being comfortable.
sending you lots of labour vibes!!! (painless ones of course) xxxx

How about having a hotter bath than usual? Sod law, as soon as you get all warm and comfy baby will decide to spoil your 'me' time lol

I don't think the midwife has indicated the gender either, spanner. I would ask her! actually I didn't know a circle with a cross was the symbol for a girl..or that there was any symbol at all...lol.
Things are bound to set it off soon...I too send you some labour vibes!
Love the names ~ especially Evie, although I would say that as I have an Evie myself :o)

I feel selfish as Im really just sitting here thinking I hope this isnt me in 15 weeks! lol
I agree with the others, I would say she was marking the position of the baby's head. I dont think they have any reason to put down the sex of the baby before its born. I knew that a circle with a cross is the girl symbol because it helps me remember my blood group - O positive!
Not taking you in to be induced until your 10 days over is normal, thats how long I had to wait too. It could be worse though, they used to wait until you was 2 weeks overdue!
Good luck and get on with it! ;) lol

god it makes me realise how nice it is to not be pregnant for once. i have 5 kids and sex worked three times out of those five, and i was early with them. my last one who is 9 mths old now came 4 weeks early after i had literally blitzed the whole house of dirt, i cleaned and hoovered for about 12 hours non stop.
Good Luck

well he's here. Lucas arrived Sunday evening at 21.13 weighing 8lb 1oz (7 hours labour) obviously the membrane sweep worked. He is beautiful like his daddy. Home birth was fantastic and would seriously recommend it to anyone. Thanks to everyone who kept me company over the last few months but I suppose I will be moving away from the Pregnancy links from now on. Red that symbol I was talking about the other day was 36yr old female (me) not the baby but would have thought that was ovbvious as you dont get many pregnant men!!
I've been advised raspberry leaf tea or tablets from Herbal Shop. I have two weeks to go (or maybe four, I was 2 weeks late with my first child) and fed up, also suffer with SPD which is bloody awful, I can sympathise. Thinking of giving this raspberry leaf stuff a go if nothing happens in the next couple of days.
