where can i buy a high speed camera? what the average price of one?

if im honest, i want one to mess about with! im curious, but is it even worth while? or should it just remain a dream? ive nothing to "research" as it were, but id love to play around with one just for the fun of it. i could think of loads of stupid things to mess about with!

The ones I've found via Google are mostly in the USA. No prices are given on the sites, you will need to ask for a quote. I don't think it'll be cheap. It seems they are mostly used for industrial and medical purposes as well as sports and of course Hollywood.

A cheap (less reliable) but also less costly option is to use a flash to freeze the motion ...
most guns go off at less than 1/10000 sec
you can also get a sound switch
or could try a strobe

I played with stills years ago
I've captured the drop of water type photos etc

you need patience ...

but a true high speed motion camera will cost 1000s
(the bullet through egg variety at least)
