I have started with cystitis - haven't had it for years but presume I'm more prone now as menapausal. I've sent hubby up to the chemist to get over the counter stuff but have noticed my urine is pink - blood? Should I be any more worried? Don't remember thatr happening last time but it was over 20 yrs ago.
Hi Pesk - I can't remember pink urine with cystitis either. May be you should get it checked out with the doctor. It could simply be a water infection, have you googled it? xx
Hi Pesk,
Most probably blood. Don't leave it. Get hubby to get a urine sample pot from the chemist and pop into either a drop in centre or A+E just to get a quick dip test and see if you need antibiotics.
Kidney infection or kidney stones can cause blood in the urine but a real nasty bout of cystitis can do that too.
Maybe take your medication but only leave it a day or so if it hasn't resolved then get to your GP or even A&E.
GOOD LUCK
Thanks everyone - I still fell like ***** but you've all cheered me up. I'll get a docs appointment if urine still pink. No aches in the kidneys so will continue taking what poor downtrooden hubby got me from the chemist. It's in his interest to look after me if he ever wants sex again!
Yes lots of cranberrry juice and no I haven't eaten beetroot. Symptoms haven't got any worse so just hanging on in there and drinking lots. These things always happen at the wrong time as right in the middle of Primary School Christmas play stuff and so can't be off on Monday. I really am encouraged that folks give the time to answer. Thankyou one & all. x
