Have just been told I have won luxury holiday!

I recently asnwered a survey in the town centre and have just been told we have won a 7 night luxury holiday for 4. I know it will be twinned with a time-share meeting but apart from not signing anything and not giving over any money what else should I be aware of or should I not go at all?

If you are stubborn and are not easily brow beaten, then go and give them a taste of their own medicine. But be careful they can be real bullies. Remember they are only out for themselves. If it too good to be true then it normally is!! Good luck.

Make sure there are no hidden costs, sometimes the flights may not be included, or the various airport taxes. I would also make sure that there is no obligation to sign anything.

I cannot believe you happily gave answers in a "survey" to a person you did not even know and gave them enough information to be able to contact you.

You have no idea how they are going to use that information. Who else are they going to pass it on to or sell it to.

In these days of increasing identity theft I think that was rather reckless and not a very good idea.

And as far as the "free" holiday goes, nothing is free and you will get nothing but hassle till you sign up.

Dont go, you will find if you do that everyone else also filled in the survey in the town centre.This is a con, a 7 night luxury holiday for 2 sounds too good to be true but for 4 people, surely alarm bells should ring ? you try taking the holiday----- dont say you havent been warned, give the whole thing a wide berth.
Reply politely ----- just send me the holiday voucher-- bet you dont get it.

i dont know what is included in your holiday, but my parents have 'won' this sort of holiday before (and turned it down) because flights aren't included and they do go on at you abit to buy the timeshare.

hate to be negative but it might be too good to be true.

well veryhelfullguy, this was a street survey and some of them are quite harmless and this appeared to be also, loads of people were responding and there were about 6 marketing people doing it in one area.. they only had my work number. We won't be going needless to say but that's the beauty of this website isn't it, ask the question and hopefully you get the right answers to help you.

Timeshare operators use the 'spare' (unsold or surrendered) Accommodation Units in making these offers, so they giving little away.
