my skyplus box has started to switch to standby when not in use ,it still records everything even in this standby state ,is this a thing that sky has done recently as it never used to do this before ,it used to stay on all the time , i just wanted to know if this was a sky thing ,or if my box is on the way out ?

Sky+ digiboxes recently (within the last few months) received an update whereby if there is no user input for a 2 hour period after 11pm (and before 4am) they automatically switch to standby.

This behaviour can be changed via Services on your remote. Go to Sky+ Setup and turn off Auto Standby. Finish with 'Save New Settings'

thanks kempie ,now you have put my mind at rest ,although you would have thought that they might have had the decency to inform us about this
