I fell asleep watching the first Harry Potter and the first Lord of the Rings. The third Lord of the Rings was good though, but I read the book when I was young so knew what happened in the second and it didn't matter that I'd missed the 2nd film. Chicklin, you're probably thinking of the Golden Compass.

i took my nine yr old to see pirates of the carribean 3. she nearly fell asleep and couldn't keep up with the dialogue.
must admit it hurt my head a bit.

'Beowulf' last week. Took Mr H and young Master H. It was in 3D and we all loved it. Not suitable for sensitive children as the monster is a bit scary. It is one of the landmark films because of the CGI and 3D.

Thanks for recommendation for 'Into the Wild' I run a community cinema once a month and that was on the list of new year film choices so may well choose it, is it suitable for a mainly female over 60 audience do you think?

Hi Hellyon, I'm a 24 year old bloke but I think it's suitable for all ages. Some nudity in it but it's not really gatuitous nudity, kind of adds to the plot and enhances the tone quite well. Quite a few people clapped at the end if that makes a difference?

Like pippa, the last film I see was Shrek 3.We never did get round to taking my daughter to see the last Harry Potter film at the cinema even though we kept meaning to. Ooops!

We saw Stardust last week - a cracking film. As usual, the kids were allowed as much Pic'n'Mix as they could get in the bag - as long as it was marshmallows.
