Voltage blew my system

I've built many machines over the years for clients, and have never had this problem. I recently bought a new case for my personal computer. I installed everything and when I hit the power button, the fan would run and nothing else happened. After a lot of troubleshooting, I found something I've never seen before -- the case was set to 230 instead of 110. So, I corrected it and , obviously, it didn't work after that. How do I determine what components got blown by having too much voltage and which ones I can still use? I'll probably end up just building a new one, but I wonder if some of the components can still be used. Thanks for any help

Having seen this done a few times, it is probably just the power supply that has blown.  You can get a new one for about �15 - �20.

Assuming your in the US then?

Yeah the PSU will most likely be fried but if your lucky everything else should be ok......if anythign is damaged then my bet would be the RAM will be fried but opther than that you should be ok.

Hmmm, having the case set to 230 wouldn't blow anything. Components are not shipped voltage specific. If I bought memory from the US it still works here in the UK despite the voltage difference. If all the components were expecting 230 volts but only got 110 then surely that would not blow anything?

I had this happen with just a powersurge.
It blew PSU, CD drives, RAM, hard drive and CPU.
Amazingly the motherboard tested out ok.
