I suffered quite bad PND after the birth of my first child,I had an unsupportive husband & was prescribed anti-depressants.7 years later, divorced from said husband,I gave birth to my second child in March this year, she is a very good baby & my current partner is a wonderful, supportive guy BUT I have started having black days(if you know what I mean!!),some days I feel perfectly fine & happy, but other days I feel incredibly down.I can never tell how I'm going to be fron one day to the next.I really DO NOT want to go back on anti-depressants,but would appreciate any advice, other than medication,to help get me through this. Thanks!!

As sugested earlier, contact your health visitor, but also bear in mind that feeling low is honestly VERY NORMAL . I know you had pnd before, and you aer probably having it to some degree now, but you know how, what and why that happens. Put yourself back in that place when you first had PND. Is it he same? Question how it feels and why you feel that way....Is there anything you have the power to change? and Those tings you cant change, get help with...sometimes it feels like we can't do stuff, all we need is somone to help with the most mundane of things which allows us to get on with the big stuff. if the loos cleaned, thats one less worry! -you need to get on with the day to day crap ,enjoy your kids ,Take strength and put yourself in the day to day world. you are a mum, but you exist seperately to that as an independant person ..nurture both parts honey!!!!
The best thing you can do is talk, it doesnt have to be a counsellor but that would be good. A close friend who you can trust and who will listen can be just as good. Sometimes there are things from our past that we dont even know are there until we start to release them. Letting it out is the best therapy. Also writing things down can be helpful as well.

Talking to someone can help, it does not have to be a counsellor, although that can be helpful. it could be a close friend who you can trust and who will just listen. sometimes there are things from our past we dont realise are there until we start to release them, also writing feelings down too.
I have suffered with depression in the past and i did have some counselling, it was good to talk but found it easier to talk to a close friend, who lives in Australia! When i saw her and i talked to her i was able to release so much, it was very helpful but the healing process goes on for a long time. When things are bad its your minds way of telling you to do something about it and release it.
