What is faster, a Ford Sierra Cosworth, or a Ford Focus RS

To clarify, we are talking STANDARD spec cars that you could have bought from the main dealer (not modified ones).

Also in terms of 'fastest' I mean
A) which one is quicker to 60 MPH?
B) which one has the highest top speed?
C) Which one is likely to get stolen first?....... only kidding.

Dont forget they made 3 different type of sierra cosworths. The 3 door, the sapphire (2 and 4wd) and not forgetting the ultimate rs 500

Top Gear ran a test over a 1/4 mile which included exactly these two cars against one another amoungst others. The old Cossie left the Focus for dead on acceleration.

I cant remember which cossie it was - I dont think it was the RS500 though but could be wrong. Mind you I would think the Focus would be better on a twisty wet road.

focus rs has seen 0-100 in 14 secs(sierra 16 secs) so is quickest, as for 0-60 sapphire 4/4 was quickest 5.5secs,The most coveted of cossies the rs500 was the slowest

The very Old Cossie 1984 XR8 is certainly faster than any Focus.
