Erratic sleep pattern
7 Answers
Hi there,
It's 7:45AM as I write this and yet again I've been up all night - I just havn't been feeling tired recently. This happens 2-3 nights a week and I catch up the missed hours here and there but I don't feel unwell at all. I am eating well and get moderate excercise. My question is what effect is this having on my health, both mental and physical, and also why has my sleep patern altered in this way? Any help would be appreciated!
Cheers all.

It will also be at the forfront of your mind before going to bed that you think it will be another bad night, so i would suggest don't eat anything at least two hours before bed, make sure your hydrated, your bedroom is completely dark, try reading in bed before going to sleep and also if you wake up during the night don't look what time it is. Hope this helps!
are you worried about anything at all? do you feel challenged enough (mentally and physically) in the day?
From personal experience, I know that when I'm not getting challenged enough my mind doesn't stop churning at night over stupid things like that I need to sort out my clothes in my wardrobe or something equally ridiculous.
try increasing your exercise, staying hydrated and challenging yourself mentally.
good luck and (hopefully) sweet dreams

Is this only a recent problem, can you pin it down to anything? Certain meds can interfere with sleep patterns. Stress also affects people in different ways. Plenty of water, at least 1.5 litres a day, make sure you're getting enough good fats in your diet eg oily fish, seeds, olive oil etc. Valerian is a herb thats good for short term problems, can't combine with some meds though. There is another herb called Rhodiola which is great for stress, sleep patterns, mood etc
when i exercise, i sleep like a log, works a treat!!
