Death in Spain
2 Answers
My mother died recently in Valencia. We have her Spanish will and an English one for different parts of her estate. We have been told that one has to send paperwork to a Madrid central office to confirm there is no later will than the one we have, before dealing with her wishes. I cant find any further details about this online. Does anyone know anything about this?

It's a bad idea to have more than one version of a will - it causes confusion and feeds more sharks. Whether you feel that the two wills are complementary as opposed to cancelling each other out, you should produce everything to the appropriate authorities in Madrid as requested. Have you employed a solicitor yet?
