Pasar un da fuera de casa (= to spend a day out of the house)
or
Pasar un da en el campo (= to spend a day in the country)
or
Pasar un da al aire libre (= to spend a day in the open air)
Take your pick.
(Note the stress mark on the "" of "da". You can type this by holding down the Alt key and typing 0237).
Babelfish translates "A day out" as "Un da hacia fuera" which is probably (and unsurprisingly) rubbish.
