"It's All in the Game" has lyrics composed by Carl Sigman in 1951 to fit a wordless 1911 composition entitled "Melody in A Major," written by Charles Dawes, who would later become the Vice President of the United States.
The song was recorded in 1951 by Dinah Shore, Sammy Kaye, Carmen Cavallaro and Tommy Edwards but it was not until 1958 that it became a No. 1 hit (for Tommy Edwards).
