I don't know much about this sort of thing, but according to an aquaintance, there's a small ball of gristle in the neck, and just prior to death, its been noted to have a lot of electrical activity, and the general concensus among certain people, is that this houses the soul.

As I said, i'm just repeating somone elses view, I know nothing about the subject.

I have no idea of the whereabouts of the soul in the human body. I'm not even sure it inhabits a specific area, but is rather confined to emotions and feelings, so I suppose some would assume the brain. There have been people who have attempted to prove the existence of the soul - most notably

I suppose you should ask yourself 3 things:

If you look for it and you can�t find it, then do you have no soul?
If you looked for it and found it, how did you know you found it and where was it?
If you don�t believe in it, then why would you look for it in the first place?
