Assuming that the Roman�s would have made such an impact and influence on British (and Mediterranean) society and history that their systems would have become inherent upon Britain and that no other system evolved in the meantime, then one could say that the current year might be 2760 Ab urbe condita (from the founding of Rome). Although, had Islam prevailed over the Gregorian reforms, then we might be living in the year 1428.
