I've just met a really nice Brazilian guy-he seems so genuine and too good to be true? I hear they have a tendency to be a bit possessive-any other interesting traits I should know about?

For the record though, Brazilian men are pasionate and intense, and can be possessive of women in their lives, but you really will have to take your guy as you find him. After all, foreigners think the English are shy, stuffy and ill all the time, and as an English man, I can confirm I am absoutely none of those!
Good luck!

I agree with (both) the above.
It's not the best idea to generalise so if you like him enough then go for it on that basis, rather than on any potentially xenophobic notions iterated by a.n.other.
I did hear that many Brazilian men like their partners to be stay at home types who cook and clean and pander to their every need. I also heard that about many Afghans, African, Albanian, American, Argentinian, Australian, Austrian, Bahrainis, Botswanans, Belarussians..........Lithuanians, Luxembourgeois..... Yeminis, Zambians, Zimbabweans etc etc etc etc and particuarly men from Basildon!
Go for it!

Like anything you find all types from every nationality. I live with a Brazilian and live in a county in MD where there are alot of Brazilians (mostly from southern Brazil). Based on what I've seen and experienced is that they are very closed minded and possessive. The ones I know come from small towns, therefore they come with small town mentalty. They like to look at women alot whether you're there or not, they'll stare at another woman in a heart beat. What I find awful is that they don't have any sort of taste in women. They will look at a woman just based on whether she's dressed like a **** or not (they prefer the color white and very tight fighting clothes and midriff showing). So in my book that is a huge lack of respect for the woman you're with. Once again I stay this is based on my community of Brazilians here in Maryland...I don't think they are very intellegent. Most don't even finish grade school and higher education is not something they seem to desire.
Oh, they are in my eyes very discriminating towards others. For some reason they think they are better. I also think that they are confused because when you refer to them as South Americans they don't like that, but where the hell is Brazil located...
Good luck!
