Where you ever alowed a drink at crimbo?

When I was a kid we were alowed a half glass of Woodpecker cider and lemonade with our christmas meal!! Used to feel so special and grown up!! the smell of woodpecker cider ALWAYS reminds me of christmas now and always buy a bottle at crimbo just for the nostaglia. Do you have any similar memories??

Is egg nog raw egg and milk? Anything else added to it? Think ive tried that when i was a kid!!

Just looked on Google.
Advocaat is made of eggs, sugar and brandy.
Mix it with lemonade and lime juice to make a Snowball.
So it would have been a snowball they were drinking in Christmas Vacation and the yellow egg nog is advocaat !

we were allowed a tiny glass of sherry. The glass had a classic car on and wasnt much bigger than a thimble ! lol happy memories! :-)

well the snowballs we used to have came in green snall bottles ready made so no idea what was in them lol

We must of been posh then. A port and lemon for us! then it went downhill to snowballs, babycham!

...a martini and lemonade.... and sometimes a small glass of dry blackthorn cider.... my dad made his own wine...but it was so dry to my 14 year old unsophisticated pallet that it was virtually undrinkable....see back in them days there was no such thing as alcopops.... booze tasted gross!

It was egg nog in our house when I was a kid...now the very thought of raw egg makes me gag. Egg nog is made with egg(surprise!!!),cream, whiskey and nutmeg
