Internet Protection

I have just out the Internet in at home. I am confused about what sort of Internet protection I require for my PC.

I have downloaded a Free Version of AVG but that is only anti-virus.

What else would i need and what are the costs?

At the very least you need a firewall in addition to the anti-virus program.
