Gotta admit, I haven't got a ruddy clue, but I was nosy enough to Google it and found this....
Ivy berries are an important source of food for wild life in early February. This climbing plant flowers in the autumn and bears its bounty of clustered black fruits at a time of the year when much of the hedgerow larder has been exploited by birds and other creatures.
( I was just trying to sound brainy, that obviously backfired, didnt it? lol)
