Are slow cookers more economical than oven cooking?

Has anybody done the maths and worked out whether a caserole cooked in a slow cooker is more economical on fuel than using an electric oven for a couple of hours? As a new slow cooker user, I'm interested in the economics. Thanks.

Not sure but slow cookers certainly give the best results.
I made a stew in one last night and it is still slowly cooking away so by tea time it will be so tender.
Elecric oven ..one weeks meals for a family of four for about 20 units
Slow Cooker 8 hours use for 1 unit.
They cost as little to run as a light bulb .
