you could see from the way people reacted to him that he was a genuinely liked and respected guy and i doubt youd find anyone with a bad word to say about him

We'd have a lot less quality bands around if it wasn't for him. On R1's entertainment news they were saying about how he broke Supergrass, Elbow and may more. He also seemed to have such great respect from everybody. A truly sad loss.

I've been getting quite emotional listening to the tributes to him on BBC radio this morning - stupid I know for someone I never met or really knew anything about - but he was such an institution in this country. As soon as I heard the news yesterday I posted it up on an American heavy metal website message board I use and this morning I was very happy to see that some users over in the US knew who he was and had added their tributes. RIP John.
