When I first bought my car my consumption was about 65mpg. Now after 3 years this has reduced to about 50mpg. What tweaks do I need to carry out to restore the car to its original figure?
What rubbish? There is only the spare wheel and a few light bulbs.
I have just had the plugs replaced.....no difference to consumption. The tyres are inflated a few psi above recommended......I drive within the speed limits.....the oil and filters have been changed.....I'm at a loss what else to do?
Hello
It might be a worn carburettor or dare I say a worn engine.
If the car does not have an ecu (electronic control unit) it may be an ignition timing problem.
Its quite easy to find your mpg. Always fill up to the top and reset the tripometer. At the next fill up calculate your mpg from the miles travelled and fuel consumed for this period.
