Many years ago I worked in Munich and one day visited Dachau the concentration camp based there.
It was a horrible experience. The prison camp was exactly as it was 40 years ago with its ovens and chimneys.
The barracks in which they slept, untouched.
There was crowds of people visiting and crying at the same time.
There were pictures and stuff the prisoners had left behind.
It was haunting and harrowing.
To this day it still affects me.
The things they went through!!
Hi Red

I have no opinion on this woman - never heard of her.
Don't suppose it matters after all this time, but from the site you've posted it reads that she was innocent, so why the venom? Seems she was tried and convicted on lies, and the military personnel were court martialled rather than carry out the sentence of the (to quote the site) 'kangaroo court'.

Whickerman, did you also notice how thoroughly biased the article was? It seems the writer wasn't entirely impartial...

I could never visit a CC, it would just tear me right up.

Question Author
ive read a few art icles and i do not find her innocent

i think its awful , thanks for all ur comments x
Hi leela - yes I did, but Ionly have that page to go on.

I went to see Auschwitz and Dacchau - what a hell on earth. I'll never forget it.
But that's not what was asked here...
True, but this article just provoked a memory.
Whickerman, that truly sounds like hell. I must say I haven't read around the subject either...but the link posted seemed heavily weighted.
This woman had a cheek complaining about moving the bodies with her bare hands!!!!!!
my wee brother is based near Celle, hes in REME, I visited last year when he got back from Iraq and went to Belsen - it was horrific in the past but now demolished the land has a kind of peaceful feel to it, wasnt nice seeing the mass graves tho

my mother was a furrier to trade and so I was brought up knowing jewish families and the concentration camp stuff has always haunted me
Whickerman, it's an antisemitic probably holocaust denial (certainly holocaust apologist) site.
I'd take with a shovel full of salt everything the authors have to say.
Irma Greser is someone I've come across and one witness (who did'nt attend the trial) reported how she used to set dogs onto people for fun.
On a curious note according to the author she worked in the mail room not the crematorium.
But according to the author her ghost haunted the site of "Krema 3"?
What is she doing haunting an area she did'nt inhabit (unless the mail room was in the crematorium).
She was certainly an antismite and appeared unapologetic for the suffering of these "criminals and partisans" and was loathe to suffer the ignominy of being hung by a jew.
Irma Greser was a criminal, a liar and a murderer. The authors are trying to mislead, and this site demonstrates everything that is wrong with the internet when it comes to research and in particular history, one should seek out books or T.V. documentaries on such subjects for authorititive accounts. As these are burdened with levels of proof and reputable sources in order to get funding.
Irma Greser is not a German "folk hero" and I don't know of any German to have ever referred to her as such.
"She was brought to trial by a kangaroo court, the 12 prosecution witnesses were hysterical Jewesses that wanted blood. She denied all the absurd charges, but was found guilty, and was hung."

Heavily biased article, from an obviously antisemitic site. I wholeheartledly agree with 123Everton there. Sent shivers down my neck to read such words. This person never was a folk "hero". Agree about the internet-based research as well.
Question Author
it is amazing though aint it ,such bad happened all them years ago x
The people who make that link would say it's all a big hoax (an exageration) I once saw an interview (by Guido Knapp I think) with an old camp doctor. He described their deaths as a blessing due to the disease that was never their intention!
Anyway where's my stars and my bacon butty!!

;-)
